Petite Red Flower Panel Card

The length of the washi paper was folded and overlapped to create three “panels” (left, back and right side) .  The right ‘panel’ doesn’t cover the left panel totally….. about 1/2″ from the edge.  I then folded the top corner back to show the backside of the washi, which is white.  To give it a little more elegance, a layer of gold echizen paper was added on the flap.  Three mizuhiki strands were made into a loop  and adhered onto the card.

Cranes #3027

An embossed origami crane stamped accents and compliments the washi….

Flying to the Moon #3016

Die cut two circles, one smaller than the other.  Stamp and emboss in black,  on red cardstock, using our Brush Circles stamp.

Spring Festival #3024

Using washi paper as a background, the die cut images blend in and accent the card.  Picking up colors from the washi is a technique often used to match cardstock and mono-tone images…

Semi-Panel Card White Satin Floral

I took the length of the washi paper ( 8 1/2″ x 11″) and folded it so it would overlap.  I then folded the washi paper back in an angle so the white (backside of washi paper) would show. Trim as needed.  Accented with mizuhiki cords.

Semi-Panel Card Variation

Using the same semi-panel card technique,  I made cards with different washi. Eash has it’s own beauty so each card becomes so unique….  Accent with mizuhiki cords.  The 1/8″ double-sided tape works wonders with these cords!

Orange Semi-Panel Card

I took the length of the washi paper ( 8 1/2″ x 11″) and folded it so it would overlap.  I then folded the washi paper back in an angle so the white (backside of washi paper) would show. Trim as needed.  Accented with mizuhiki cords.

Orange Band

Using a smaller Tsumugi ivory  card, cut and layer washi papers and adhere onto cardstock.  Accent with mizuhiki cord. Use 1/8″ doublestick tape so the mizuhiki cords adhere easily.

Angle Card

Using the Japanese ‘Lines’ technique….  check the “Washi Memo Pad”  or our Facebook page for tips….

Band Card Flying Cranes

Here’s the band card method again….I like using this technique on smaller notecard sizes.  On this one, I just simply cut washi to cover the length of the card and accented with the cords.  I’ve always liked to keep the cards simple as the beauty of the washi paper speaks for itself….

Fold the card the edge shows about 1/4″.  Cut washi and gold paper and layer.  Trim edge of card with gold paper.

Pastel Sakura Panel Card Variation

Here’s another simple card to create….  Cut washi paper to cover  2/3 of the front of the note card.  The mizuhiki was curled with a tweezer.  Using the gold paper, cut out a leaf.  The end of the cord is tucked under the layered washi paper.

Cards Made with One Sheet of Washi Paper

This was all made with one sheet of washi paper ( 8 1/2 x 11) and I had some left over!  Choose notecard colors that match the colors silkscreened on the washi….  Mizuhiki cords that reflected the colors in the washi were also selected.

Cut out heart shapes with washi.  The background cardstock is cut out with pinking shears, and stitched onto the card.  Accent with embellishments and message.

Layered Tree #5010

Cut out tree layers with different color washi.  The background uses one of the brush stamps, accented with a red strip.  Stamp a tone on tone greeting and you are done!

Hearts in Squares #5009

Punch out hearts, and simply adhere on the squares of washi paper.  Perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Stamp the cardstock with floral image.  The dress is accented with trim and ribbon….  Add your congratulatory message.

Punch out various circles with different washi paper designs.  Adhere and stitch them all together and add your message…..

Cut a tall triangle using the washi paper….stamp the background, tone on tone on green cardstock.  How about an accent with a washi paper ‘ribbon?’

Layered Flower #5004

The background is stamped with various brush and message stamps.  The layered flowers were cut in free form, with the leaf and bottom layer stitched.  The center blossom holds it all together….

Arigato Flower #5002

The “Elegant Arigato” stamp is used as the stem for this flower.  The red button accents the center of the blossom…simple yet elegant!  Creat your own blossom, or use your favorite flower and leaf die.

Cut strips of  washi paper, twist in the middle and trim the ends in an angle to create a ‘bow’ effect.  Adhere in a circular shape…this card has mizuhiki outlining the circle.
